Post 3 - "The Unexpected Visitor"

It was a cold morning when an elderly man walked into a small-town church just as the pastor was locking up after Wednesday prayer.

His coat was worn. His shoes didn’t match. His eyes looked tired but kind.

“Am I too late to pray?” he asked softly.

The pastor hesitated—he had a meeting across town. But something tugged at him. He opened the doors again and invited the man inside.

The stranger sat in the front pew, bowed his head, and didn’t speak a single word for nearly ten minutes. No dramatic cries. No long petitions. Just silence.

When he finished, he stood, smiled, and said, “Thank you for letting me talk to God. I needed a quiet place.”

He turned to leave. But when the pastor stepped outside to lock up again, the man was gone. Not walking away—not down the road. Just… gone.

Later that evening, the pastor felt a nudge in his spirit: “You never know who I send across your path.”

Reflection

Sometimes God visits us through people we least expect— the tired coworker, the lonely neighbor, the stressed cashier, or even a stranger on the street.

Every encounter is an opportunity to show God’s love. Every moment of kindness becomes a ministry.

Application

  • Slow down enough to notice people.
  • Be generous with grace.
  • Be open to divine appointments.

You may never know the impact of a single act of kindness—or who God might send next.
